Principal's Corner

Welcome to the school website for Naramake Elementary School! I am proud to be the new principal of this wonderful school community, and I am committed to building upon the strong foundation built by the caring staff, dedicated parents and enthusiastic students that have passed through the halls before me.

This new school year begins with a continued focus on excellence and an educational program promoting student achievement.   We continue to use data, as well as consider the needs of the whole-child to plan for student achievement and implement Responsive Classroom practices to make all children feel welcome and inspired to achieve.

The staff’s commitment to excellence is one of the reasons Naramake Elementary School enjoys such a great reputation. We continue to rely on our parents and families to support us in our work.   Our close-knit community is made possible through the efforts of the PTA in developing and organizing events that bring families, staff and students together, as well as fundraisers, for the common benefit of supporting our students.  Besides building community, these events help defray the cost of field trips, school assemblies, technology, and other materials that will benefit the students. If you are interested in volunteering --- we can find a way to make it work with your schedule and talents!

Another way parents and guardians can have a significant impact on Naramake is to join our newly forming School Governance Council.  In this initial year, we will elect 7 parents to serve on our SGC, with some posts requiring a 2-year commitment and others just one.  The SGC is designed to be the main, decision-making body of the school and requires mandatory training sessions followed by monthly meetings.  If you are interested in serving on this committee, please email me directly so we can add your name to the ballot for a parent vote in the coming weeks.

I look forward to getting to know everyone better throughout this first year as your new principal.   I can’t wait to learn more about the people—staff, parents and students—who make Naramake Elementary School such a warm, inviting place, and I am excited for the opportunity to work together to make this great school even greater!

Sincerely,
